When Praying Is An OPTION!!!!

"Pray without ceasing." 
(2 Thessalonians 5:17)

 HA! HA!  I BET I MADE YOU LOOK!

 Remember saying that when you were a kid?  It was merely child's play then! A ruse to get someone's attention and show off a little bit!   And if I was talking about anything other than PRAYER, it still might be, even if you're an adult!

I don't know what drew you to this post! Were you looking for an excuse? Validation for this lack in your spiritual life? Maybe, you've met your quota for a particular person or situation? 

Just Curious? No Matter....I'm glad you're here!

 Prayer as an option, (even for some Believers) has become nothing more than...

A few well worn platitudes; 

 Biblical words spewed out as a knee-jerk reaction;

 Or, a simple cut and paste job from a previous post to send on for reassurance. This just won't do!

PRAYING IS NEVER AN OPTION!

• The Bible contains over 650 prayers.

• More than 1,050 are commands and these just in the New Testament.

• There are countless illustrations of people in the Bible  praying for: Forgiveness, Petitions, Healings, Adoration, Praises, Power, Anointing, Blessings, Intercessions, Lamenting, Faith even Imprecatory prayers seeking God's justice on the unrighteous.

• So whose doing all this praying?  Prophets & Prophetesses? Professionally trained? Gifted and Anointed? The Rich? The Poor?, Rogues and Rascals? Sinners and Saints?...  YEP all of them! People from every walk of life prayed!!!

YOU WERE CREATED TO PRAY!

I'm always a bit surprised when people tell me they don't know how to pray! I do understand however, what they are saying: They don't feel comfortable.  They haven't been taught formally! They are embarrassed for a variety of nonsensical reasons--among them--they can't do it like someone else does! This is nothing more than the sin of comparison, a spiritual trap of the Enemy to keep you from relating to God in this special way!

👑God desires to communicate with His creation. Praying is simply having a conversation with God. Only mankind has this privilege. Click Here: Genesis 3:8-9   

👑Because we are created in His image (Intellect, Emotion, and Decision-making) prayer is our access to the Divine and the means by which we get our needs met.    Click Here: Mark 11:24   Express our adoration and thankfulness toward Him. Ventilate and cleanse our feelings. Purify our actions and so much more humanity  challenges us with.

👑We may wonder when in danger, or overcome with fear even the most unspiritual person finds it instinctual to call out to God in a prayer! It is because "We all have a God-size hole in our heart!" that only He can fill. Click Here: Ecclesiastes 3:11.  The Psalmist in  Psalm 19:1 says" The heavens declare the glory of God" the skies proclaim the work of His hands." Even those who have never heard or seen a bible understand that there is Someone Higher, more Divine than themselves. 

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!

In times of exhaustion, disappointment, and confusion over difficult situations we are often tempted to stop praying! We may be in the midst of a  Faith Crisis (see my June blog When Your Faith seems Not Enough!). or simply misinterpreting God's Silence!  This is when the Enemy will tell you that Praying is Optional!!  You've done enough! It's Not in God's Plan! Don't pray about it ANY MORE!  Don't You Do It!  Here's an old Throw Back reminder!   P.U.S.H right on through...
